The connection between religion and spirituality

Islamic legislation (Shari’ah):
-   Degrees of approval: obligatory, Recommended, lawful, hated, and Sinful

Why do you worship God? And why in this way? God does not need our worship, but we need it. Our worship is not just action or exercise; it has meaning and goals to affect us.  For example, our prayer would be just action and exercise, if:
-   We raise our hands at the beginning of prayer saying “God is Greatest”, but we do not concentrate and reverence (have Khushoo’) in our prayer.
-   We stand up in one line, shoulder by shoulder, but we still are prejudiced.
-   We put our face in the ground, in the Prostration “sujood”, but we still have arrogant.
The Messenger of God (peace and blessings of God be upon him) said: “There may be people who fast and get nothing from their fast except hunger, and there may be those who pray qiyaam and get nothing from their qiyaam but a sleepless night.” Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1690; classed as saheeh by Ibn Hibbaan, 8/257, and by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 10/83.
