The first chapter (Surah) of the Quran

The Opening

Al-Fatiha

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Bismillaah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem
Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds,
Al hamdu lillaahi rabbil ‘alameen
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Ar-Rahman ar-Raheem
Master of the Day of Judgment,
Maaliki yaumid Deen
You we worship, and You we ask for help.
Iyyaaka na’abudu wa iyyaaka nasta’een
Guide us to the straight path.
Ihdinas siraatal mustaqeem
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed Your Grace. Neither those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray.
Siraatal ladheena an‘amta ’alaihim Ghairil maghduubi ’alaihim wala-ddaaleen
